About Córdoba Capital’s Region

This region consists of the City of Córdoba, located in the geographic center of the Argentine Republic, by River Suquía. The City of Córdoba has become the core of the Bioceanic Corridor, fitted with the most updated telecommunications infrastructure in the MERCOSUR. International airport, excellent entrance routes, logistics support services and world class hotels and restaurants are the keys to position this city as the main destination of the country’s inland to hold meetings, congresses and conventions.

The historic “Córdoba de la Nueva Andalucía” was conceived in order to link the Alto Perú with the Río de la Plata through the Camino Real. This old city was founded on July 6th, 1573 and has one of the oldest populations in South America.

Different religious congregations settled in Córdoba from past times, the most significant one was the Society of Jesus, which left an invaluable cultural, historic, academic and religious legacy, materialized in the so-called Jesuit Block, declared world heritage by the UNESCO in 2000.

You can perform different activities in Córdoba, such as walks along the traditional pedestrian street, visits to La Cañada, the distinguished church of The Cappuccinos, walks along the Palacio Ferreira, San Martín Square and visits to the Cathedral.  There are also many museums, art galleries, exhibition centers, artisan fairs and music festivals to visit.
